Frederick Wiseman on Kanopy

Another RIP. The greatest narrative filmmaker of all time was a documentarian. A sociologist like Balzac! Humanistic with a critical eye but never sentimental or editorializing. Modern doc slop and message pushers could learn a thing or two. Apparently these were hard to see for a while but they’re all free with a library card on kanopy. A fitting distribution platform for a champion of public institutions. Long live FW, long live public libraries.
